I have had the water tested twice and both times coliform is present. After the first time, I poured bleach directly into the artisan well (495'). I opened all the facuets, inside and outside. It took about two hours for the smell of bleach in my house. After 5 weeks, I just had it retested, and again coliform is present. What can I do? I had a new well drilled this spring and unknown to me, the well driller did not test the water for county compliance.

Knowing what the process was, helped me understand all that is involved. fyi: the well head was pretty much impossible to get at, so I left that to the experts.
