Lake Padden Best Jogging Trail in Bellingham

Lake Padden is the Best Jogging Trail in Bellingham

If you are new to Bellingham and looking for a place to jog, you need to check out Lake Padden. Lake Padden is a beautiful publicly owned park that features a jogging trail around the lake.

The Lake Padden jogging trail is exactly 2.59 miles long. This a perfect distance for beginners. Many of the more advanced runners tend to take a few laps around the trail. Another ideal aspect of the Lake Padden trail is that half of the trail has gentle hills, while the other half is flat. The jogging trail is also fairly wide and provides plenty of room for runners, on leash dogs and bicycles.

Are the trails leading up to the lake - specifically the one beginning
on the 36th street deadend - on leash or off leash? Also, the new
portion from 34th to 36th on Harrison - on or off? We have had a
    lot of conflicting information.
The area is really beautiful and mostly very well kept.

    Nita,

That is a really good question. It is my understanding that all public areas (parks and trails included) require pets to be on leash unless otherwise stated. The only off leash portion of Lake Padden that I am aware of is the fenced portion located at the east end of the park.
