Lummi Island Real Estate
Lummi Island is the only San Juan Island that is not located in Island County or San Juan County. Because access to the Lummi Island is from Gooseberry Point, it falls under Whatcom County jurisdiction. Lummi Island is often confused as being part of the Lummi Native American Reservation, but it is not.
Lummi Island is a long narrow island that is less than 10 square miles in total size. Access to Lummi Island is out of Gooseberry Point, which is located on the Lummi Native American Reservation. The Lummi Island ferry is a very short ride that is less than 10 minutes. There are around 800 year round residents on Lummi Island.
There are 2 main communities on Lummi Island. Located on the south eastern shoreline of Lummi Island is Lummi Island Scenic Estates. Lummi Island Scenic Estates has a community lake, oceanfront clubhouse, and private beach & boat launch available to members. The other main community is Isle Aire Estates, which is located along the north western shores of Lummi Island. Isle Aire Estate has a 1,200' private sandy beach available to owners.
While most property for sale, is located in Lummi Island Scenic Estates and Isle Aire Estates, there are also some other options. There are the Beach Club Condominiums, located on the northern tip of Lummi Island. You can also find many singe family homes on private waterfront as well as on farmland near the middle portions of the island.
